After School Program

Elementary School

NYTSC partnered with the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to provide free after-school service from K-8th grade. COMPASS Elementary offers programs with a strong balance of academics, recreation, enrichment, and cultural activities to support and strengthen the overall development of young kids. Our programs aid students to build skills that support academic achievement and raise participants’ expectations and confidence.

All applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Summer Camp Program

NYTSC provides a free summer camp for Elementary students provided by DYCD with limited space availability. Our summer camp program aims to create an environment where students are warmly welcomed and supported in their exploration of new skills. Our program follows five goals. Goal 1: To foster academic, social, and emotional competencies and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. Goal 2: To provide opportunities for youth to explore their interests and creativity. Goal 3: To build skills that support academic achievement and raise participants’ expectations and confidence. Goal 4: Cultivate youth leadership and community engagement. Goal 5: Engage parents and other caretakers to support the above goals.

All applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Peer Mentoring Program

NYTSC is offering a summer group mentorship program, connecting current undergraduates with high school students in hopes to encourage the youth and assist in college readiness. Our workshops and 1-1 meetings are process of aiding students with time management, extracurricular enhancements, recommendations, college access and social and emotional well-being.
